- What are your office hours?
The office is open Monday and Tuesday 8AM-4PM, and Thursday 8AM to 7PM. Appointments are required.
- Where can I park?
We have plenty of free parking in the parking lots in the back and north side of the building.
- Why do I need a consultation?
All new patients benefit from an initial consultation by one of our medical aestheticians and one of our doctors.
Your consultation will include VISIA Complexion Analysis, a thorough skin examination and skin care review. This is followed by a review of treatment options available, preparatory, treatment planning and post-treatment skin care. We provide you a printed summary of your skin analysis and a guide outlining your prescribed morning and evening skincare regimens.
- Can I have my treatment on the same day as my consultation?
Absolutely. Depending on your diagnosis and time available, we can proceed with your treatment on the same day as your consultation.
- How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments needed, will depend on the area or lesion to be treated, your skin type and the laser or light device appropriate for the optimum results. During your initial consultation, we will give you an individual estimate of the most likely number of treatments to expect.
- Can my skin condition be treated with a laser?
At SkinMD, we have lasers and light devices to treat the following: Brown lesions (pigment), including freckles, age spots, liver spots, or sun spots, “cafe-au-lait” birthmarks, and nevi (moles); Red lesions (vascular), including port-wine stains, hemangiomas (“strawberries”), angiomas (“cherry spots”), telangiectasias or spider veins (“broken capillaries”), and rosacea (“flushing and blushing, red nose”); Unwanted hair on the face, legs or body (darker hair is best); Scars, including hypertrophic scars and keloids (red and raised), acne (“ice pick”) scars, burn scars, and surgical scars; Wrinkles, including “crow’s feet” (around the eyes), “smoker’s lines” (around the mouth), “frown lines” (between the eyes), and “worry lines” (across the forehead).
- Does the laser hurt? Will I need anesthesia?
Each treatment pulse feels like the snap of a rubber band against the skin. Except for sensitive areas, such as around the lips, eyes, and bikini region, which may requires a topical numbing cream applied, treatments require no anesthesia. If a topical anesthetic is required, it is applied by the medical aesthetician or doctor upon your arrival in the office, 30 minutes before your scheduled treatment.
- How many treatments will I need?
- How long does the procedure usually take?
The length of time it takes to complete each procedure depends on the size of the lesion or the area being treated. Treatments can take as little as 10- 15mins, or as long as 1 hour or more.
- How long will it take for me to recover following my laser procedure?
Depending on the laser used and your skin’s response, you should expect that within an hour or two of your treatment, no one should be able to notice that you had a procedure. You may however, notice darkening of pigmented lesions, slight bruising, or skin redness. Women may apply makeup over post-treatment moisturizer and sunblock after laser procedures. Redness, bruising scabbing, or flaking after your procedure can last up to 2 weeks, depending on the laser. During this time you can resume your regular activities. Always remember to use sunscreen of at least SPF 30 when outdoors.
- What treatments other than laser surgery are available at SkinMD?
Medical grade chemical peels, various dermal fillers and Botox injections, Steroid injections for acne, traditional hair removal, and skin care services including facials treatments are all available at SkinMD.

- How much do treatments cost?
The cost of laser and light treatments vary, depending on the size of the area being treated and the number of pulses delivered.
- Payment Financing & Payment Options
At SkinMD Seattle Laser & Aesthetic Medical Clinic, we strive to make your treatments affordable. The needs and preferences of our patients and clients come first and foremost.
Our prices are competitive and you get best results and greater value if you purchase treatment packages rather than pay for individual treatments.
We accept cash, credit cards and offer third party patient financing through Care Credit.
Additionally, we offer in-house financing with a minimum deposit of 25% to 50% of the total cost of your treatment. The balance to be paid in pre- arranged installments. Your treatments will begin once full payment has been received. A one-time administrative fee of $15 is added to your deposit for all treatments financed. No finance charges are assessed.
Our experienced staff can guide you through the payment process regardless of your modality of payment.
- What are SkinMD Policies?
Appointments: Services are available by appointment only. Advance payment is required in order to secure a time on our schedule for treatment. Please arrive 15 minutes early for appointments to allow time for completing consent forms, or other paperwork, using the bathroom, etc. If you are running late, let us know as soon as possible and we will try to accommodate you without disrupting other client appointments (in some cases, we may need to reschedule your appointment).
We have a wide variety of appointment times available and book up to several weeks in advance. Some days and times are more popular than others. We do our best to accommodate your requests for a particular day and time. However, all appointments are on a first come first served basis.
We will do our best to accommodate requests for a particular skin care & laser specialist. However, if your requested skin care & laser specialist is not available during the time/day you request, we ask for your cooperation in allowing us to serve you with another skin care & laser specialist.
Cancellation Policy: SkinMD has a 24-hour cancellation policy. Should you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment please give us 24 hours notice so we can make the time available to other clients. Failure to show up for a scheduled appointment will result in forfeiture of prepaid services booked.
Return/Refund Policy: No refunds are made for products, service packages and pre-paid treatments once they are purchased. If for some reason you are not able to use an un-rendered, pre-paid service, you may do a one-time exchange of the unused portion toward other services. Unopened products may be exchanged for alternative products within 7 days of purchase.
Treatment Expiration: All Service packages and pre-paid treatments (except Laser Hair Reduction) must be used within 12 months of date of purchase or they will expire. Laser Hair Reduction must be used within 18 months of date of purchase or they will expire.
Tipping and Gratuity: SkinMD is a non-tipping facility. Tipping is not customary at SkinMD because we are a medical clinic. The best tip (and compliment) we can receive is your repeat business and referrals.
Treatment Outcomes: SkinMD is committed to serving you in the best way that we can. We will be honest in all our dealings with you. Aesthetic medicine is not an exact science and response to a given treatment will vary from person to person. It is virtually impossible to predict results and therefore payments made for services are for treatments to be performed – not for a specific result. However, we always strive to achieve the absolute best result that we can for you. Thank you for allowing us to serve you!
Rights Reserved: SkinMD will try to communicate policy changes with you in advance wherever possible. However, we do reserve the right to change our policies without notice.
- No refund policy
It is the policy of SkinMD that no refunds will be issued once an initial purchase has been made. If treatment is declined, the purchaser may receive the full amount in house credit* toward alternative treatments or products.
Only the amount paid is redeemable towards house credit taking into account discounts that were taken at the time of original purchase. When treatment packages are used the full cost of each treatment will be deducted from the amount paid and the remaining balance is what will be available for redemption toward house credit if other treatment options are pursued.
*House credit has no cash value and may only be redeemed towards either services or products offered by SkinMD.
