When Botox alone just isn’t enough…MicroBotox (Meso Botox) at SkinMD Seattle
What is Microbotox?
MicroBotox or Meso Botox is a revolutionary technique to deliver Botox (or Xeomin) into the very superficial layer of skin so that it does not affect the major muscles that control facial movements, yet it still works to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It also reduces pore size and oil production, even helping with acne. Microbotox gives your skin a smooth, refreshed, shine-free appearance, and no “frozen” look.
Using the Aquagold fine touch microneedle drug delivery device, Dr. Balogun performs Microbotox or combines Microbotox with hyaluronic acid, skin brighteners and a vitamin and peptide cocktail to achieve a lifted, toned and hydrated appearance.
Where do you use Microbotox?
Meso Botox can be used in your forehead, around your eyes for crow’s feet and under eye fine lines, on the nose, chin, cheeks and around the mouth. Meso Botox can also be applied to soften neck and décolleté lines and wrinkles.
How much does it cost?
It takes 20-80 units of Botox or Xeomin, depending on how many areas you are treating and what additional formulations are included. Treatments can range $500-$800 per session.
How is it different than regular Botox?
Meso Botox works in the superficial layers of the skin. It takes more injections, but less Botox is injected with each treatment. Overall there are more injections using the microneedling drug delivery device, which can be a little more painful, so we can use topical anaesthetic to make it more comfortable. You may get redness of the face after the injection for a day or two, which doesn’t happen with traditional Botox injections.
How long does it last?
Duration of MicroBotox effect lasts the same amount of time as regular Botox or Xeomin: 3-4 months. The microneedle delivery facilitates fibroblast activation, which improves skin elasticity through collagen stimulation for longterm skin tone improvement.
