Should You Consider a PRP Facial?

PRP Facial Injections
Should you consider a PRP facial? If you want to see rejuvenated, healthier skin then the answer may be yes. A PRP facial is a unique treatment that uses your own platelet-rich plasma to encourage your skin to renew itself. At SkinMD Seattle in Seattle, WA we can help you get the youthful, bright skin you once had.

Should You Consider a PRP Facial?

Fewer Wrinkles

People who would like to see fewer fine lines and wrinkles should consider this type of treatment. Wrinkles in the skin occur over time and can be due to many different factors such as repetitive movement and even exposure to harsh weather conditions.

You will find after your facial treatment that the small lines and wrinkles on your face will begin to fade and not be as prominent as they once were. The result will be a more youthful appearance.

Increased Collagen

Collagen is a substance that is naturally produced in your body and is responsible for giving your skin an overall plump and supple appearance. As you age, collagen production begins to decrease. This leads to skin that doesn’t have the same resistant quality it once did.

If you are concerned about your collagen production and would like to see your body renew its collagen, this treatment may be the right option for you.

Firmer Skin

Environmental factors and the natural aging process cause skin to lose firmness over time. Sometimes this can cause folds in the skin or hollow areas. A PRP treatment will help to tighten and renew firm skin, decreasing those areas with a lack of firmness.

More Even Skin Tone

A PRP treatment will bring about a more even skin tone and should be considered if you would like to get rid of dark spots on your face or have skin that has become unbalanced over time from sun damage.

More Moisture

If your skin has lost its natural glow over the years, it could be due to a lack of moisture. Many people find that their skin becomes dry as they get older and that holding moisture becomes more difficult. This treatment will help your skin retain moisture, helping you look younger.

The Process

Blood Sample

The first step in the process is that a sample is taken of your blood. Because we use your own blood supply, there is no risk of you coming into contact with contamination. You can be sure that your blood will react appropriately to the skin on your face.

Platelet-Rich Plasma Separation

The blood sample is then placed in a centrifuge, which is used to separate the different parts. We will separate the red blood cells from the platelets and the plasma. The platelet-rich plasma is the substance that is responsible for stimulating your skin to rejuvenate itself and create more collagen.

Numbing

We will use a numbing cream in the treatment area to be sure that you are comfortable throughout the process.

Plasma Application

The platelet-rich plasma is then added to your skin, and the process of creating healthier skin with a younger appearance begins.

Microneedling

Next, we use a special tool for a process called micro-needling. Microneedling is a treatment on its own that stimulates the skin to produce collagen. It involves rolling many tiny needles over your skin to create very small holes in the skin. As the skin rebuilds itself, new and healthier skin takes the place of damaged skin.

In this treatment, micro-needling is also used to be sure that the platelet-rich plasma can reach all of the treated areas and will be able to penetrate deeply into your skin where it can do its job.

Recovery

Recovery from this process is quick and easy. You do not need to stay in a treatment facility or have someone help you at home. You can leave this non-invasive treatment and continue with your day.

We do recommend that for best results, you repeat this treatment approximately every 2 weeks for several sessions. Most people see the results they want within 4 to 6 sessions. We will consult with you to help determine how many sessions will be appropriate to meet your needs.

Benefits

Quick

Unlike other treatments that can take a long time and require a great deal of preparation, this treatment is quickly done in our office. The number of treatments you’d like to have done is ultimately up to you.

Non-Surgical

Other treatments that provide similar results are more invasive or surgical in nature. They may require a long recovery time or going under general anesthesia. This treatment is not invasive and does not require any type of surgery.

No Allergic Reaction

Sometimes patients have to be concerned about having an allergic reaction to substances used during treatments but this is not the case with this type of facial. That’s because the key substance used to rejuvenate your skin comes right from your own body.

Healthier Skin

When you want to see healthier skin with a more youthful appearance and glow, this is a treatment you should consider. Call us today at SkinMD Seattle in Seattle, WA to talk about how this treatment can bring vitality and rejuvenation to your face.
