A lot of people have heard of microdermabrasion, but they’re less familiar with a procedure known as vibradermabrasion. Microdermabrasion is an exfoliation technique where the body is treated with micro-crystals. These micro-crystals are blasted at the skin, sanding away outer layers of the skin, ridding the skin of bumpiness and improving complexion. Vibradermabrasion aims to accomplish the same things as microdermabrasion, both working to rejuvenate the outer layer of the skin. The primary difference between the two is the tools used.
When to Consider It
You should consider having a vibradermabrasion treatment done when you begin to notice mediocre signs of aging. One of the primary uses of vibradermabrasion is to correct scars that originate from acne. Acne scars are noticeable; however, they are not deep scars, so this treatment may even be able to completely eliminate all signs of acne scarring.
Vibradermabrasion vs. Microdermabrasion
As previously mentioned, microdermabrasion uses micro-crystals to peel off a thin layer of skin. Vibradermabrasion accomplishes the same thing; however, it uses paddles to remove a layer of the skin. These paddles vibrate at incredible speeds, slowly removing thin layers of skin at a time. Through friction, layers of the skin are removed, making the skin even and reducing the visibility of the scars.
Experts say that vibradermabrasion causes much less skin irritation than microdermabrasion. A consultation is the only way to determine whether or not the treatment is best for you. One treatment is effective enough for some people; however, most people will require multiple treatments to see the best results.
